
Moushumi Sanghavi, MD, is board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. At Gastroenterology on Gramercy Park in New York City, she treats all aspects of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, but she has a special interest in irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. She is also a partner of East Side Endoscopy, a nearby state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center. Dr. Sanghavi is one of a few female gastroenterologists in New York City, and she has considerable experience treating diseases predominantly affecting women. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures and non-invasively treats internal hemorrhoids with infrared coagulation and endoscopic banding. Dr. Sanghavi received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She attended medical school at New York University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She went on to complete her fellowship in gastroenterology training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is affiliated with Mt. Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West in New York City. Dr. Sanghavi speaks English and Spanish.
